One of the reason's I'm a little short of the mulah to bid on the PET mentioned in another post, is because I've just acquired this neat little Epson HX-20.

Hard to imagine this came out at the same time as the luggable Osborne 1. Mind you, word processing on this screen (much smaller even than the Osborne) would have pretty painful.

There were a few of these around my University in the early '80s. They had great interfacing capabilities and were employed as controllers for lab equipment or as data gatherers using attached sensors. The built-in BASIC made it easy to customise for those purposes.

One more model off the wanted list :)

Nice Tezza... The HX-20 seems to be a interesting machine.
How much do they cost "down-under"?

I'm getting one of those from a friend sometime in the near future. He found two in the electronic trashcan at his work. :)

Well, this particular one cost me a lot. We are talking about $US 120. It's been my third highest-costing micro behind the TRS-80 model 1 and the Osborne 1 (actually the 5150 cost the most, but that was all shipping). Unfortunately there was another guy who wanted this HX-20 as much as I did.

It's in mint condition though, fully working, and they don't come up very often down here. I've only seen one other one for sale in the 6 months I've been looking. It was about the first week I started to lurk on the TradeMe site, and I can't remember what it went for.
