The Vintage Computer and Gaming Marketplace is down for a software upgrade that is taking a bit longer than expected.

I'll have it back up and ready to use as soon as possible.

Sorry for the interruption. :)

The software upgrade didn't quite go as smoothly as planned so I punted and will try again at a later date.

Until then The Marketplace is back to where it was.

Thanks!

Hm, did something go wrong with the update? For example, we now have 49 items listed as "ceramics & glass", three "amateur arts" and so on, plus a whole range of off-topic categories such as clothing, coins, jewelry, home & garden, movies, sports etc. While it is fitting that all vintage computing items currently end up as antiques, I doubt that was the intention... :-D At least we have no Pre-1900 item yet.

Edit: My user account also seems to have been erased, and upon signing up again I got user id #1. Whee! On the other hand, I feel sorry for Erik if the past update caused all this headache.

Edit 2: This also means all the details about sellers and bidders seems misplaced. While the items still are there to bid on, it doesn't display who's the seller or who you bid against (the latter is getting true for eBay as well, so no news there). The worst that could happen is if other people sign up, get their user id's matching an active item...

Still working on it.

Hopefully you didn't mess it up with your re-registration! ;)

You're free to disable/delete the registration, or more likely replace contents with a backup of some sorts. Good luck! :)

Actually, if folks here are registered at the VCGM could I ask that you please try to log in?

You should be able to, but if not then I need to tweak something so I'll need to know.

Just post here or PM me if you succeed or fail.

Please don't try to change passwords or set up alternate accounts. :)

Earlier in the afternoon, it failed but now it works again. Thanks!

Works for me.

Works for me.

Thanks, Mike.

It sounds like it's working okay. I created a couple of glitches through Operator Error, but I seem to be the only problem at the moment.

Folks should consider checking out the site. There are several cool new features!

Ok, I just tried to access the site and I get the following message;

Missing or wrong Phpauction Key.
If you purchase a regular license of Phpauction XL,
please contact the support team.

If you access the site by any URL other than http://marketplace.vintage-computer.com/ you'll get that error.

If folks are using the other addresses I can buy additional keys for those URLs for a "nominal fee."

Wierd...I had a bid on a magazine, Micro Systems Journal, I think.
Cover said "Bringing up CP/M+" or so...

Seems to have totally vanished...

That was totally my fault.

I tried to apply some of the new featurs to a couple of auctions (that one and the Osborne 1) and ended up somehow cancelling them instead.

Stupid user error for sure. I've contacted both sellers and asked them to please relist the items and offered my sincerest apologies.

The same holds true for bidders and potential bidders.

Sorry,
