that made me feel pretty cool, lol. jim hall who maintains it said he's used it himself for a while now, and wanted to include it in the next FD release but i never officially assigned any legal license to it. so anyway i slapped a LICENSE.TXT file in the ZIP with the GNU GPL v3 text and you'll see my prog in freeDOS 1.2 i believe.

Nice! I can't wait for the 1.2 release!
I'm an old-time DOS user and programmer, and I really like FreeDOS. One thing I'd love to see happen is the ability to run Windows 3.x on FreeDOS. I realize it will be difficult, but it would be very cool.
While I'd keep MS-DOS (or PC-DOS) on my vintage computers, I like to run MS-DOS on one or two older machines (not originally DOS machines), just so I can "play" when I want. I am using MS-DOS 6.2 on them both, but would switch to FreeDOS *if* the ability to run Windows 3.x were achieved.
