aw man. i have two of those G3-based iMacs myself... i know they're not exactly state of the art here in 2008, but i couldn't bring myself to butcher one like that. maybe if one was completely dead.

they still can be useful even compared to todays computers, and they're cool looking. i keep one of them in the kitchen as a neat little web browser and mp3 jukebox, it reads the mp3 files off of my linux file storage system.

i don't have a copy of OS X for it, but i just put the PPC debian build on there and optimized it... got rid of anything installed that it didn't need, and it runs just fine.

I have one of those too. I was going to put BSD on it but never got around to it. I do have the shell to a Mac Classic thats waiting for me to do something with it...

Is it white? Or piss yellow?

I got a Mac classic that is yellowed, but works.

White but its got a large sticker thats mostly ripped off on one side and its banged up. Its a project shell more than anything.

I've got a white Classic II here that I need to either sell, make into a MacQuarium, or find the SCSI HDD it needs. I am saving all my cash right now for my move in June, so can't afford to buy the HDD. I cant afford the space to keep it either. Anyone interested?

I like the little G3 iMacs. They are great, and am on one right now typing this message. It is Blueberry in color, has a 350MHz or so G3 processor, and a modest 109MB of RAM. I will be ugrading the RAM to it's maximum when I can, 256MB. My birthday is today, so maybe I will have extra money to spend for it. The little sucker takes laptop memory.

It is really useful, even in today's world. I have OSX 10.3.9 on it, and runs fast. It can MP3s, surf the net quickly, etc. Haven't tried to play a video yet. I'll edit this post after I try...

like i said i don't have OS X so i can't try that on mine, but with debian it surfs the web without any problems. and as far as video, well i have one of the G3's to the left of me with a 400 mhz in it. it's playing a DVD right now, flawlessly.

Ryan...I might have a smallish SCSI drive for ya - prolly came OUT of a Mac to begin with it.

key thing, is, I will need a week or two to check it out (READ: I can;t freaking reach it right now, because I have SO much crap, that it sits between me and that drive)
