Hi,
There was a similar question asked recently but I think I re-ask it in a more general way. Does anyone know of or have a ROM image for diagnostics/extended diagnostics for the IBM XT?
Preferrably one that writes POST codes to port 80, rather than port 60 as the normal IBM XT BIOS does, so I can use a typical (AT class) POST reporting card?
The IBM Advanced Diagnostics disk won't work in this case because I have a motherboard which won't boot and I am trying to isolate or at least narrow the failure mechanism.
A tool as described above, if it exists, would probably warrant a sticky tag as it will come up frequently for those repairing vintage XT machines.
Thanks in advance!
