Looking for -->AMD Microprocessors and Peripherals data book(early 80's)
Would anyone have this databook ?
This would contain the programmers reference for the AMD9511 fpu chip.
I have the datasheet already but not any programming info yet.
I'm working with this chip and like to get a copy for this.

thanks,
Dan

The replacement source for this chip is the Intel 8231 or MC8231. Maybe programming information can be found from an Intel source. All I have found so far for this chip is a brief description of what you can do with this chip and the datasheet diagram from the IC Master 1983 catalog:

"...16 and 32-bit fixed-point and 32-bit floating-point arithmetic operations. ...Data are transferred to and from the APU via a CPU by using conventional programmerd I/O, or by a direct memory access device if higher transfer speeds are required...is available with a 2mhz, 3mhz, or 4 mhz maximum clock frequency....24-pin chip..."

and so on.

Have a look here:

http://electrickery.xs4all.nl/comp/dai/doc/AM9511.pdf

3.3MB, about 31 printed pages. The 9511 is really really simple--you have two I/O ports, one for data and the other for commands (when writing) or status (when reading). Handles 16- or 32-bit integer operands or 32 bit (8 exponent+24 mantissa) floating point.
