I'm not getting enough time to play with my old machines and I'm definitely working too much, but I did score a ride in one of these today .. :-)

I rode in the BT-15 variant. Pure bliss ...
This is the page that has a picture of the *exact* airplane I was in ..

I don't like Tom Cruise much, but I do envy that he has a flying P-51D he takes for rides once in a while (good investment too if he had it a while).

It was lucky ... I was working a pancake breakfast being hosted by the flying club that I am a part of. N 73402 was there as part of the display of various airplanes. The owner remembered that I spent some time helping him polish it last year, so he offered a ride. That's something you don't turn down.
We took a brief flight over town. It's a big airplane, and the engine has quite a bark - it turns heads all over town when it goes overhead. (You don't hear a big rotary engine like that very often in your lifetime.) The weather was perfect, and it was my first time in an airplane with a canopy - an open one at that. What a blast ...
A picture or two to come when they come in .. some friends with nice cameras were on hand.

Kewl! I love vintage warbirds. I've wrenched on a couple of those P&W 985s. Normally aspirated, nine jugs in a single bank - same configuration as the Wright 1820s they hung on the early goonies, before they switched to the P&W 1830.
