Hi all:
I mostly collect pre-PC IBM stuff that isn't too big. I have a 5100, 5110 (+5114 FDD), two 5120s, a System 23 and two Displaywriters. My only APL model is one of the 5120s - I have been looking for a sub-$2,000 APL 5100 for years! I am also interested in IMSAI VDP-4x, TI Portable Professional Pros, Bandai Pippins and PMC Micromates. I have a bunch of other stuff that is more accumulation than collection - perhaps 70-80 machines total, including a bunch of HP, Apple and Kaypro. I am also a regular attendee and exhibitor at VCF and even managed to make the East Coast version last year.

WOW! Impressive collection. The only thing you mention that I'm familliar with is the PMC MicroMate. It was always one of my favorites until one day it just died, for no apparent reason. It's in Computer Heaven now. You don't have an extra one you'd part with, do you, or even just a mainboard?

Wow, it's been a while since I've visited here. To answer some questions, I have a storage room in my house with about 25 linerar feet of 74" high, 24" deep, Excel wire shevling - holds a lot of stuff. That said, I'm basically out of space and can not even easily access much of what I have since it is so buried. In the last year the only item I've required is an HP 2648A terminal.
I have three boxes of PMC Micromate stuff that I haven't looked through in several years. I may well have some extra boards. Let me know if you're still interested.

YES, please! I have found enough parts to get my MicroMate (presumably) working again, but I'm still lacking software. If you can supply me with bootdisks or images, you'll be my hero. PM sent. TNX!

Wayne,
Too bad you couldn't make it to this year VCF east... It blew away the last one! :) Here are the pictures (http://home.comcast.net/~bryan.pope/index.html) I took.
Cheers,
80sFreak
P.S. BTW, the show was May 13, 2006.

Great shots - love that BIG IBM iron and the pdp 8a 400. Nice judging photo too. Thanks.

Well, I regret to say that I haven't gotten to it yet. Tomorrow is another day, however.
I finally pulled down the three Micromate boxes and went through them. I received all of this stuff in early 2003 but had never opened them up.
Box 1 was all manuals. Digital research and Micromate stuff, including the Micromate users guide (Yay!).
Box 2 was all hardware. One Micromate, two standalone FDDs in the same form factor, and 3 external power supplies. (I think the external power supplies are to run the Shugart drives in box #3.)
Box 3 was a combo of hardware and software. On the hardware side, another Micromate, a bare Shugart FDD, a bare Shugart HDD, a FDD controller and a HDD controller. Two small green boxes (both labeled "Microsette") full of 5 1/4 discs and a large plastic disc caddy with another 20 or so discs. Below is the inventory of the discs. I copied the labels down verbatim. About 1/4 of the discs are from the manufacturer, the others are self labeled. It's pretty obvious what a lot of them are, others it's harder to tell. A lot of BBS stuff, as you'll see.
