Hi

Looking for some upgrades for an IBM XT.

An 8087 (DIL) FPU chip, and a real time clock would
be top of the list. I'm also looking for memory cards,
and accelerators if anyone has anything.

Thanks.

The XT doesn't have it's own RTC. Are you looking for one of the third-party slotless type that fits under a ROM chip?

Is it possible to get an RTC on an 8 bit card? The ROM
modification sounds interesting although.

I pulled a 8-bit RTC card from a computer recently.

Some cards, like the AST SixPakPlus (http://oldibmpc.sitesled.com/8AST.htm#multi1), got a battery backed-up clock. However, you'll need a driver to use it.

The clock chips used to be pretty common. Don't know the chances of finding one today.

I wouldn't think they're *that* rare; what might be more difficult is finding the driver/set program.

As mentioned there were single-chip versions that fit under a ROM chip and single-purpose cards like the one Bill shows, but most clones had them on the multi-I/O or memory expansion cards; I've got cards and I've got drivers, but it'll be a PITA to try to match them up...

There might still be an old XT somewhere in the pile with the board and driver still in it and also a NIB multi-I/O card or two somewhere; I'll look around.
