So I spent $10 and brought home a pile of mystery reels of 8mm film and a pretty snazzy projector and for a few hours I was watching my parents old home movies as well as those mystery reels (one of them turned out to be some sort of home made porno:evilgrin5: ) I was done spooling up another film when I switched on the bulb and got blinded by the bright blue light which visually tells you that the bulb just blew out.

The bulb appears to be a 120v, 750W DDB projector bulb which looks like this...

...and they seem to be all over the place on ebay for between five and twenty dollars and that makes me wonder.
I have had two projectors in the past and for both of them it was next to impossible to find replacement bulbs for them. what's so special about the DDB type bulb? is it a standard bulb?

Also, another reel had footage of the 1962 expo in Seattle. The view form the Space Needle looked awesome before they caged the observation deck in.

As was the monorail, if I remember correctly.
And the last time I was there (a few years ago now) the monorail was still running too.

Yeah, the last time I looked it up on Wikipedia, it was still running. In fact, they're planning an expansion of the route, IIRC.
