Amazing now 12 months just flies by - sometimes you'd reckon that you might as well skip birthdays and have them every second year! :-D

Happy birthday! It's a lucky day to hit a few used vintage stores and/or craigslist. ;-) Yeah ok, I try that every year and usually goes bust but still, a fun concept.

Heh, funny, just this morning I figured someone would mix in both names. Thankyou all for the warm wishes. It's been a good day today. I went freecycling and picked up a free 17" Acer LCD montor that works perfect, and two non-vintage systems. Both are HPs, one is a PI/II Windows 95 the other an HP Vectra PIII Windows 2K. Also, scored a nice Smith Corona Galaxie manual portable typewriter.
Actually, Terry, I am. In Texas age of consent is 17. I haven't gotten to do gifts or anything yet, so won't know until after dinner what I get. I took my new car(hey, ya'll don't know about this one yet. I'll make a thread) and had the pipes and muffler replaced, so now it'll pass inspection. $180. Also, detailed the interior. It's been a nice day at home, relaxing, doing whatever I please.
Dinner is tortelini, garlic bread, and ceasar salad. My girlfriend made me a cake and will be showing up in an hour and a half or so.

EDIT: Even better, I just posted on an old vehicle thread.

so here is the day's end. I got a cake, card, and shirt from my gf, and from my parents a card and unlimited Internet on my Blackjack II(full keyboard). How does it feel to send this on my phone? Awesome.--Ryan

Haha, well current gf of 3 months is 17, so we're fine. On a related note, as long as whoever you are with is +/- 3 years of 17, your fine in TX.
Now in other states....

In MI, it's 16 for both genders, unless <insert a metric sh!tload of exceptions, special cases, loopholes, legalese, etc>. Basically, if they feel like prosecuting someone, they can prob'ly find a way, (unless the defendant's lawyer can find a better loophole than the prosecutor's). It's prob'ly pretty much the same way everywhere...

Well every law is made to have a loophole, that way when the person who made the law breaks it, they know how to get around it.
BTW, Terry, the VIC-20 PSU came in today. I was greeted warmly with a plume of cigarette smoke when I opened the package, LOL.
Oh, and thankyou all again for the warm wishes. It always feels good to know a community of people wish you a good day. And it was one.

In a recent case I am aware of, the guy was 55, the girl 14, and the state prosecutor´s office (that should be the harda$$ on the offender, especially since he had sex with the girl at least 24 times over a six month period) is only recommending one year in custody, with work release (the offender shouldn´t be able hold the job he had with even one felony conviction), and three years ¨treatment¨...
See if you can find the case I´m talking about for your complaints (of course not here, it´s off-topic)...
Sentencing is June 25th...
