Hi folks,
I'm trying to find an "Altera LP6 Logic programming card". I have the whole PL-ASAP2 setup except for the LP6 card. The Altera LP6 is a computer PCI card that is used with the Altera Master Programming Unit (PL-ASAP2).
The card looks like the Picture below that I scanned from an Altera Data Book.

Hi-Res version of the LP6 card Below:

I'm hoping someone out there has one to sell or knows where I can pick one up.
If you could email me that would be great.

So once again, anyone that can provide any information on where to find one would be so amazing. I've been going around in circles for a while now and it's driving me crazy, but I'm not giving up on the search. :)
Kind Regards,

Hi Chuck,
I'm back again, but this time I'm not looking for the DATA I/O Programmer.... I'm in search of this Altera LP6 card.
This is the card I've been searching for.... for quite a while actually. Originally I need it to erase the Altera MAX chips. Then when I read that I could use Third Party Programmers Like the DATA I/O Labsite or Unisite, I ended up succeeding and got a running DATA I/O LabSite Programmer to Erase my Chips and it worked beautifully.
But now, I've been searching for the Altera MPU setup for so long and have done so much research on it that it's more of a challenge to find it and I'm refusing to give up. Plus it would be allot of fun to learn and finally be able to use this unit after only reading about it in the Manuals and Spec sheets and Data sheets. The LP6 Programming card is all I'm missing.
Anyhow, the hunt continues. :)

Great! Do you still want a few 7064 PLCCs? I've got no use for them as I can't program or erase them.

Good luck! There's not a lot of information out there on those things!

I remember seeing one for sale on Ebay around three years ago, which was right when I was just getting into the Altera Programming. I didn't know what it was at the time, man If I had only known.
Ohh well, the hunt is on.

Hey again Folks,
OK, I have now finally acquired the Altera LP6 Logic Programming card for the vintage Altera PL-ASAP2 MPU setup.
My college happened to have one in their storage room along with other old Vintage Altera gear. Apparently the LP6 unit had been sitting in the storage container for over 10 years.!! OMG I couldn't get over that one.....just sitting there doing nothing for all that time. I was told that they had been using Altera Chips to help student learn various VHDL programing techniques and had them interfacing their Altera Chips to a
"Scorbot ER-VII" robotic arm controller.

So now after years of searching, I have the Complete Altera PL-ASAP2 Master Programmer setup. This was a real find for my Altera collection and
so if anyone ever needs their Vintage Altera Chips Erased or need me to run some specific diagnostics tests via the official Altera MPU, please let me know. I'd be glad to help out.
Below are some images of my Altera PL-ASAP2 MPU gear.

Here is another Scorbot unit I got to play with in College. Mybe now I'll try and do some Altera Interfacing of my own. Fun stuff.
I'm actually playing around and interfacing with the Nintendo Gameboy. The plan is to create a replacement Teach pendant for these robots, as they are at times hard to come by. This could be lots of fun for hobbyists to build themselves as a side project, and pretty cheep too.... once I get it working. :)
