Does anyone offer or would be willing to offer monitor refurbishing services? I personally have a few screens that could use some TLC, but the last time I even attempted opening the case (now mind you I'm not experienced with tubes) I blew myself across the room, so not being qualified I'd rather leave it to somebody else...

Shipping costs and high probability of damage during shipment pretty much limits you to finding
someone local. You could try placing an ad on your local Craigslist in the Electronics section. Most
good TV repair shops could handle any problems with monitors, but the way electronics are nowadays, I
doubt there are many shops left in business.

Most problems with vintage monitors , like other vintage electronics equipment, is faulty capacitors.
I've repaired several IBM 5154's by simply replacing all the electrolytic capacitors in the power supply.

Just out of curiousity :-) , what types of monitors do you have and what problems are they experiencing ?

I have a 5151 that was sitting in my basement for quite some time, the insides have accumulated quite a bit of dust and debris inside the case. I don't feel comfortable working inside CRT's anymore for a few reasons... last time I just took the cover off one to just look inside I damned near blew myself across the room and secondly, I am not qualified to work on them, at least I don't feel qualified to work on them.
