Temp..Where to?

DOS4 & Win2.
Set the Temp in C:? DOS? or Windows?
Reason/s why, would also be much appreciated!

I used to make a \temp or \tmp directory and set it for that, you don't get a long list of temp files if you're browsing the DOS or Windows directories.
