I have a large collection of Atari 8-bit software on 1.25" floppy disks that I would like converted to a CD.
I am sure you understand that the disks are precious to me. I will need some assurance of your veracity and reliability. If you are within driving distance of South Jersey (USA) then we could meet in person, otherwise, perhaps references?
Thank you!

have you tried posting a message on midatlanticretro.org? There may be someone nearby that can help. I just tried to use the software from http://www.horus.com/~hias/atari/, but I was unable to read any Atari disks on a Comaq Deskpro...don't know why.
follow up...since I originally made this post I read more and learned that http://ch.twi.tudelft.nl/~sidney/atari/ ("Utilities to transfer disks from the Atari to your PC")...has the info that'll probably lead to a solution. It would probably take me a few hours to figure it all out using the hardware I have at my disposal. What kind of Atari disks do you have (what system and on what drive were they formatted?)

Hi,
What I want to know if I could copy your collection of Atari disks to my disk?
Thanks

Am I missing something deeper here? Why not just use a SIO2PC cable and software combination or equivalent? It works simply and effectively, moreso than most other systems with similar solutions. Also, unless you have custom software, everything that I can think of has already been converted to image files for use in emulators or for transfer to real hardware/disks, and is easily available on the Web or already transferred in whole to CD.
