In another old magazine, I saw a reference to the Commodore LCD, a (proposed) second-generation laptop. (Popular Computing, June, 1985, pg. 71).

If it was presented at CES in January 1985, but Popular Computing didn't write about it until June.. well, there is always a delay in publishing.
