Hi,
Can the moderator please correct my spelling error on the subject of post 12051, Burroughs is the correct spelling, but I cannot correct. The incorrect spelling is on the search engines, etc. This is about the only thread I know of about the Burroughs L-7000
Thanks
BIll Degnan

Borroughs is the correct spelling, but I cannot correct. Now you got me really, really, confused. The title already says "Borroughs" doesn't it? Besides, didn't you mean Burroughs, like it says everywhere else in the thread? I don't mean to doubt your expertise but I've just spent the last half hour trying to figure this out. :) What am I missing? (besides a brick)

I can understand that, but the rest of the thread refers to it as "Burroughs" - like the computer. I have a feeling that billdeg got confused when writing his title change request. It doesn't look like it when reading through the thread, but perhaps this is an L7000 that was previously owned by the Borroughs shelving company. Anyway, I don't understand where Borroughs came from in this context. Sorry to be a pain - you can just ignore me if I'm the only one that doesn't get this. :)

No wonder you're confused ;-)
I think Bill also got confused or just made a typo (you know how it is: you fix one mistake and create another), and Mike just didn't get what you're talking about. Forget about Borroughs; all references are to Burroughs Business Machines.

Thanks everyone and sorry about my terrible spelling. I usually correct my own posts, but this one I could not fix. I remember when I finally got a computer and I could abandon the typewriter, I was a terrible typist. The ability to edit/correct is my saving grace.

Lol - I'll forget about the shelving then. :p So we're all agreed that the title should read Burroughs L7000.

Where would any of us be without error-correction...

But I think you *can* correct what OJ and I are chuckling about: the "Borroughs is the correct spelling" that is still in your original post.

Yes I just fixed *that* post. Here is a pic from the system for the record:

Speaking totally off topic, I just got a bunch of old typewriters the other day. Real old ones. I still have to go through them to see what I will do with them. Anyone here collect old office equipment?

I have an Underwood 5, but that is more of a coincidence.
