ok, I previously posted about my G3 powerbook series 1 and wifi compatibility.

I installed macos 9.04 which works fine. I also got a Proxim orinoco gold PC card to use with it. I downloaded some wavelan drivers and installed it, but they don't work. For some reason, the card is not recognized, and then the program says it won't work on my mac. Have I got the right drivers? I've looked all over the place and downloaded several versions I believe, but nothing installs right.

I also cannot seem to get a wired network connection either. Can anyone help?

Did you try disabling the Airport PC Card extension? What encryption is the network using? I don't think it works with WEP.

I have an Orinoco Gold for PC, not sure if the Mac uses PCMCIA. It supports wep, but not wpa.

On a PC, I`m pretty sure, that there exists a beta driver for xp, which is wpa capable.

Anyway, the Orinoco uses 5V 16bit PCMCIA-

My wifi setup is currently wide open to make things simpler. I did not find any airport extensions to turn off. I am not sure if I have the correct drivers for the gold card I am using.
