What kind of computer is it? Are we still talking about your "police" mobile?

Ok, in that case, yes, the DOS 3.3 will certainly work for testing purposes, but you'll probably want to use a version 5 or 6 disk on a '386, to take advantage of memory management. After you figger out what Flash card to get for it, it should be a simple matter of SYS-ing the Flash disk in another machine that has a PCMCIA slot. That will make the card bootable and solve your boot problem. Just be sure to get the correct kind of Flash card. (Your '386 probably only has Type I slots, as they were the only kind available in the '386 era).

Ok, cool I do have a pcmcia slot on my new laptop computer so I will be able to transfer dos onto the pcmcia card with mo problems hopefully (I just got to wait for the card)
Ok now my next question is a little more complicated.
I'm wondering, is it possible to take the operating system that my police computer is running on (it's has a built in calender, a clock, as well as a pawword protection thing that is accessible from the harddrive its self that's on the pc) is it possible to take that operating system and remake it on a regular pc computer? So lets say I have a old pc from 1994 that origionaly used dos as the operating system. Is there anyway I can make it boot up exactly the same way as my police computer and do all the same stuff as it (put a clock on it, password, calender)
Erik
Probably not, as the Police computer might have extra hardware for the clock, etc, that isn't found in another computer. Just copying the software won't help unless the necessary hardware is installed. More likely is that you'll be able to go the other way around. If the Police mobile has some kind of disk drive installed, (solid-state, mechanical, whatever), you should be able to make it bootable.

Ummmn, yes...probably.
I have a few different computers here that boot to Flash disks, and the smallest of them boot to MS-DOS v.6.22 from a 2Mb Flash disk, so if the one you're getting works, you should have plenty of storage space left to load a couple of DOS-based games.
If, OTOH, you want to run Win-dose (3.x) on it, you'll need to buy at least a 10Mb Flash disk for it.

Ok, but let us know what kind of hdd you're hoping to get for it. A 340 sounds like it might be a mechanical (ATA, Type III), driv, so if it works. you'll be pretty well plus per off. Let us know what you find out.
