cd on 486

HI, i have recently aquired 4 computers, one of them being a 486 with a cd rom. It had windows 3.1 but a file was damaged so it wouldn't boot.Instead I installed ms-dos 5, and It will not recognize the cd-rom, so will i need to get a driver. The type of cd rom that it is is SONY.

Sony drives of that vintage were extremely proprietary, so you'll probably need a driver for that p'ticular model.
