Coprocessor for an IBM 5170 Type 1

I'm looking for a coprocessor for my IBM 5170 Type 1. The installed CPU is an Intel CG 80286-6 C.

I'm not sure what coprocessor I need.
C80287-1 ?
C80287-2 ?
C80287-3 ?
xxxxxx-6 ?
D80287-10 ?

I'm not exactly sure what all of the designations after the 80287 are, but since your 80286 is running at 6 MHz you should be able to use any of the 287s. 6 MHz was about the slowest speed that these chips were rated for.

In my opinion, the 80287-6 would be your best bet, because the coprocessor ran at a slightly slower clock rate than the processor, so you wouldn't be overclocking the chip at all - could be a different story with an 80287-3.

I bring this up because now I need a coprocessor, too! I can't even -install- AutoCAD without one...

besides , 287XL is the safest, for it was the latest version of 287 and would fit any speed 286
