I'm looking for a working IBM PS/2 1.44MB Floppy Drive. The card edge connector type. Hopefully working. I paid $6 for two drives from a guy on comp.sys.ibm.ps2.hardwaye. Neither of the drives worked in my model 80. They don't seem to be working in my Model 25 either

You could always get an 8 bit fdd controller, and splice in the proper power wires, and use a standard 1.44mb.
I personally dont think you are going to get far with finding a 1.44mb drive for it. Couldn't you just split the files up on two different 720kb disk?

I'm looking into working on my Model 80. That needs at least a 1.44 for the reference disk.

I've got a PS/2 something or other that says 1.44 on it's blue button. As far as I know, the machine has some issues that can probably be fixed, and the last time I was inside it, I think it has the drive your looking for. You can have the whole thing if you want it. I'm not at home right now, so I don't know what model it is. I do remember it's a 386 with a 486 upgrade attachement of some sort. I think the attachment was from Kingston. I'll give you more deails when I got home. (Around noon today.)

I've got a functional 720K drive that I just pulled out of my PS2 model 30 and replaced with a 1.44. I'd be willing to part with the 720K for little +shipping. The 1.44 I bought on Ebay was $10+ shipping.
