Does it have to be a 603s? I have a plain old 603.

I have found no evidence of the existence of a 603 "plain", so I hope that yes it will work because it's maybe really a 603s or 602s. The 603s was for the D9090, the 602S was for the D9060 drive. Either will work on the D9090, but using a 602s will turn a 9090 into a 9060....I have read that a full height ST225 will work in a D9060/D9090 but only the first 154 tracks (which is better than nothing) due to the controller used on the Commodore.

Here are the specs for the drives

MODEL : HDS : CYL : RWC : WP :

: TM 602S : 4 : 153 : 128 : 153 :
+------------+-------+-------+-------+------+ :
: TM 603S : 6 : 153 : 128 : 153 :

Tandon TM-603se has 6 heads and 230 cylinders
