I'm finally getting a job for this summer, and will have the money for a new PC. I need one badly. Here's myu problem. I'm stuck between the Intel 805 and the Athlon 64 3800+. The Intel can be safely overclocked to 3.8GHz (from its original 2.66). The AMD can get to around 2.75GHz (from its original of 2.4). I know AMD processors are made differently from Intel's. Anyone want to share their opinion?

Tom's Hardware was able to overclock it all the way to 4.1 GHz even, thanks to water cooling. They claim it outperforms top-of-the-line Pentium and Athlon FX CPUs. If you have the right combo of motherboard, CPU and cooling and all those results hold true, it should not be a doubt it gives the best value for money at the moment?

Anyway, we have two people here who recently mentioned that they'll custom build new PCs, so they should be able to pitch in some advice, plus others of course.
