Does anyone here ever go to a relative's house & end up fixing their broken electronic equipment?

I was just at my step-cousin's house last night & replaced their broken LCD monitor w/ a CRT (of the same size & Resolution) they had in their garage. I also offered to give their NES a major tune-up. (As in buying them a new connector, maybe disabling the NES10 lockout chip (it's easy, you just have to cut a connector on the chip, & bend it upwards, ground it to a nearby circuit), & cleaning all the cartridges)! I couldn't get to their NES last night, but I asked them to bring it over this thurday when they come over :p)

Eh, worst I'd ever had to do is reset my 87 year old grandmas digital radio, hardly tricky, but she doesn't like technology and vice versa.

Vice Versa as in Technology doesn't like her, or as in you don't like technology?

Technology doesn't like her. Anything that can go wrong, will go wrong. At least within reason.

Well, as long as it is within reason...

True, I haven't had to deal with an infestation of gremlins yet, but they are leaving traces behind...*Gibbers rocking in corner*

I don't know what it is with Grandmothers and digital radios. Mine had a problem in that the saved channels where disappearing, despite her reprogramming it. I even looked at it and couldn't find fault.

Turns out, every night before bed... she unplugged it...

I don't know what I'd do without a few gremlins around to blame everything on...

lol, Its a deceptively simple ruse! They shall never suspect...

My gran kept overwriting all the preset channels with Classic FM everynight, because she would press one to change station, but hold it too long, thus overwriting the preset with the current station.
