i did a search for "8088" on ebay... and this came up: http://cgi.ebay.com/Rare-Fujitsu-MBL-8088-2-Processor_W0QQitemZ260053648534QQihZ016QQcategoryZ 4193QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem#ebayphot ohosting

it says that fujitsu 8088-2 CPU is very rare, does anybody know if this is true? just curious becuase that is the came chip thats on my XT. (you can see mine in my sig, as im sure you've probably noticed by now)

mine's not all scratched up like the one in that auction, either.. i'm not selling it or anything, i was just curious if it being "Rare" is true.

Ah, at first I thought it was a dual 8088 system. That might be a bit rare!

He just want to get some attention, did you noticed guys describing 486s or 386s as rare? This is the same.

I have both 8088-2 and 8086-2 and -2 is only saying, that processor's 8 MHz.

I use my 45 watt iron on my cpu chips, they are always well-done.

rofl! yeah, i agree well-done is better. an alterative is to just connect some of the CPU pins to a 120 volt mains.
