Anybody care to come to Michigan and drive off with a truckload of vintage computers? I'll even provide the truck! I have to reclaim one of my storage rooms for use as a bedroom/nursery, and be rid of a whole sh!tload of stuff by the 21st of this month, (when the baby's due). The guy who's s'pozed to be coming for it iz kinda dragging his feet, so I'm offering this as a last chance, first-come, first-serve deal. I'd hate to junk these goodies, but if I have to, in the interest of domestic tranquility...

The truck is a 1989 Chebby S-10 shorty, with 2.5 EFI 4-banger & 5-speed tranny. It needs a starter, but with a lil' push she'll start right up and drive, to verify the usability before spending $$$ onna starter.

As for computer gear, the list includes, but is not limited to (IIRC):

Four or five Compaq Portables
A couple of Wangs
Some TRS-80 stuff, including a beautiful Model III, a couple of M-IVs, etc
Some Sanyo 555s
A brace of Columbia VPs
Several assorted Kaypros
Some IBM-PC/XT stuff
A handful of Tandy 1000s
Some H/P 100/150 stuff
Some Heath/Zenith stuff, including a complete & working Z-120, lots of docs, etc.
Some Apple ][ stuff, system units, disk drives, etc. & a Laser 128

I dunno, lots of other stuff...too much to recall or list, but the truck will be well-filled. All I can say is that someone will leave here with a big smile on thier face.

Do any of the Compaq Portables have 10MB MFM drives?

Do any of the Compaq Portables have 10MB MFM drives?

The Portable 286 has a 40Mb Genuine Compaq IDE drive & controller...dunno what's in the others, but should be able to dig up something (don't ask me what I've been doing all day). There is also a known-working 10Mb drive in the A/B-badged XT case.

Some Sanyo 555s
I'd really like a Sanyo 555 -- it was my first computer!!!! Any chance of selling it and shipping it? (I'm in Alabama and a little too far to get to Michigan)

Or if anyone else gets this and wants to part with a Sanyo, let me know!!!

Sure, no prob, but might take awhile. They aren't at the top of the stack, so when I get to 'em...

Terry do you remember the spec/model of the Tandy 1000 in that lot?

There's an SX, an SL, and an EX, IIRC. Robert mentioned that you'd be recieving one (or more) of 'em. The EX has the memory expansion board, but it's not fully populated.

I don't personally have anything on hand, but there's a lot of old Mac stuff still in ComputerHell. I'll pm you (or anyone else interested) with contact info for Lew Stone, the owner.

Hi,
Not sure of what you are looking for but the one College in Ann Arbor, has a center where they get rid of things. I will have to look it up they have strange hours. One school auction is coming up that has a few macs.

Here is the URL
http://www.rjmauctions.com/auctions/livschool2007/index.html

Here is a URL for hamfest locators since they do not advertise
http://www.arrl.org/hamfests.html

Just set it for the state. Never know what you can find when you go to one of these.

Almost finished filling up a box of Apple II software, for FredIII.

Take Care

Well, yes and no...sorta...
It's in the process of being scrapped/salvaged/recycled/whatever. The owner is still willing to deal with interested parties for whatever is left, but I'm no longer directly involved.
