programming languages for System 7

I've been searching around for programming languages that will run on System 7.0.1 on a Mac Plus (emulated). Any pointers? (pun not intended)

Symantec THINK Pascal 4.5 is supposed to be free but it looks like they've pulled the copies of it from their servers.

I've got a boxed copy of 4.0.1 here. The manuals aren't much use.

The only problem with Pascal is there's very little information on the net about it. I could only seem to find demo code and no information about system calls.

I did check that out previously, but other than the Programmer's Workbench from Apple (which I think I am going to have trouble installing; it's big and complicated, and even using HFVExplorer I'm having difficulty transferring files between my PC and the emulator--but probably just not using it right), not much seems to be available anymore. For instance, when I was an undergrad I used Scheme on a Mac (MacScheme I would imagine it was called). C would be Ideal, Pascal is sufficient, almost any other language is acceptable.

This is a nice implementation of Basic that I like to use.

Versions are available for System 6.0.7 thru Mac OS X 10.4, for systems from very old Mac 512Ke's, up thru the latest G5 PowerMacs & Apple Intel iMacs & MacBooks.

Thanks for the information. I had a corrupt version of Chipmunk Basic, so I just downloaded a new copy.

I've gotten away from my project on the Mac emulator for the time being, but I'll get back to it eventually.

This week I installed the "mini vMac" emulator on my PowerBook G4 and have been having lots of fun with it.

It is small enough that you can install it on a USB drive, but I just installed it inside an applications folder on the hard drive. It is interesting to see how many design elements still exist in OS X and what concepts have been dropped along the way...

Now I'm looking for a copy of Lotus Jazz to run on the emulator. I want to see just how bad that software package really was.

Now my PowerBook G4 emulates Commodore 64, Apple IIe and Mac 512K. I want to download and try out some game console emulators for OS X, but have not taken the time to do so yet....
