Hello: I'm a newbie and hope my problems are simple, even though they aren't that way to me. I have recently purchased an amiga 2000hd. It was set up to have a cd drive put into it's bay. I have no use for a cd drive so am trying to ignore the sign that says UNABLE TO OPEN CDO: SCSI device unit 3. When I click on cancel it goes away and all is well. I changed the
name of the hd to a name I have on another amiga, thinking the files would swap nicely that way. Everything was perfect for three days until today when the machine started asking me to insert the name of the hard drive
volumne that was already there. I had originally installed a program called
The Works Platimum and couldn't open any of my files because the cpu required me to insert the hd volume that should have been on the hard drive itself. I changed the name and that only caused it to ask me for both names. I finally changed the hd back to the original name and was finally able to delete The Works! Platinum prgm, but
I have been unable to reinstall it because I'm still asked to insert either of the first two Hard drive names. What I see is 'CAN'T OPEN wkbench-the works.
The volumne is not mounted" I've searched for either of the first two hd names and came up with an archival reference for one of them. I erased it to no avail. Is there a way i can delete these references so I can reinstall my program? Or, do you think the hardware install for the cd drive is to blame? Sorry to be so long winded, but it's a complicated mess for a rank amature like me. Any help greatly appreciated. Lew
