I have scematics for a POS device designed around the Intel 8085A CPU. I would like some changes made to the schematics, and have them saved as (I think) a Gerber file, so they could be sent to a 1-up vendor for manufacturing.
There are two primary changes I would like to make:
First, I would like to add front panel functionality like an IMSAI or Altair, including the lights and switches normaly present on those machines. Since the processors are nearly identical, I think this should be feasible. I have scematics for the IMSAI, from which to draw some of this information.
If you're wondering why I can't just use and IMSAI or similar, I can't afford the space for their Monitor program in ROM. I need the entire 64K addressable space for this application.
The other thing I would like to do is change the location of the CPU and support circuitry. Currently, the CPU, a couple of 8255s and the other basic support chips (buffers, address latch, etc.) are on the Motherboard, while the RAM, ROM and the primary communications circuit are on a separate board.
I would like to take all the motherboard functions and put them on a single board, so I can use a passive backplane.
If we have any hardware people interested in working with vintage components, post or drop me a line.
