Just scored a little gem at the tip (dump). A pioneer px-7 (apparently an MSX machine) it was in with a load of video recorders etc. must make up another car load of rubbish, so I can go back tomorrow and search for the keyboard. I'm supposed to be installing a dish-washer.
I've done quite well from there in the past few days, yesterday, pulled an amstrad (yeuch!) pc 1512 base unit with ibm 8-bit hard-card (yum!) out for £2, and the day before pulled a Vtech pre-computer out of a bin.
Rather surprisingly I found it yesterday with a wooden penguin inserted into the cartridge slot. I suspect it was my 21 month old daughter's first attempt at a Linux port for the Vtech! :D

Nice finds there, especially the hard card!

I've never found anything interesting at the tip, but I did get my Amstrad PC1640 with EGA display through Freecycle.

That is the most awesome Linux port ever.

I'd love to see a pic of the penguin stuck in the slot!

Perhaps one of the VCR's was a LaserDisc player that goes with the Pioneer MSX computer? They tend to be rather attractive, perhaps a little less so if they made a trip via the dump.
