how to change xenix386!login name

Did a new install of SCO XENIX, I think the version number is 3.2.1

After the boot process, I get the "xenix386!login" prompt.

I want to change the xenix386! part to something else. I have done it before, but have forgotten how. I have spent the last 2 hours with the manuals and seaching the internet with no luck.

Any help would be appreciated.

Are you already logged in with SU permission? If you're doing a fresh install, you need the activation key, IIRC.

try man uname

What I had to do was to edit the file /etc/systemid

Put in whatever you what it to say before the word login.

My now says "acje!login:" instead of "xenix386!login:"

Spaces are not allowed.

Make sure uname also reports the same name (if uname is included in Xenix).
