Sorry to get you excited with the title, but I didn't know what else to name it without going to long. No, I don't know where any conventions are here. Instead I ask: Does anybody know of any N. Texas or south oklahoma Vintage computer conventions going on this summer? Or any mass garage sale or computers going on?

Thanks--Ryan

DANG! 1000 miles from me. Don't know if the wife will let me have my liberty card for that long!

Mentioned the show to the wife and she said sure why not?!!!!!! She said it could be my congratulatory Navy retirement trip!

Now the kinda bad news. She said she might like to come along. Don't get me wrong. I love my wife and would enjoy the travel time with her. But, she's about as much non-computers and I am pro-computers. She would be bored out of her skull, especially if I decide to exhibit this time.

Hmmmm. Gotta do some serious thinking here.

Just put her in the little corral marked "wives and girlfriends who couldn't possibly care less", let her talk with the others who are there to make sure that no large trucks are involved and have a good time LMAO

Or, I could just give here the keys to the car and tell her I'll see her at the motel every evening! Of course, I'd probably have to surrender a credit card or 2... On second thought, the corral is sounding better and better!

Wife has opted out! I'll be going stag, providing I can still go. Start a new job on the 14th of this month, so gotta see what their policies will be.

Now to cross my fingers, eyes, toes, and anything else that will cross!!!!!!

Seeing you're in the DFW area, you might check out First/Third Saturday. Lot more newer stuff, but with a little digging and luck, you can occasionally find some vintage.

Sorry to post so late in the thread but I remember reading it and thinking it but I guess I never actually posted. HAM radio fests are a fairly good place to look for vintage computers (I've made several nice finds including an AT&T 7300 with manuals and it was up and running, a Vic-20 with tape drive and lots of games, an Aquarius (not sure model if there is one) and the guy mailed me the manual when he found it at his house, and several other toys). Either way, I'm sure there may be better sites out there but this site is fairly good for list HAMfests around the desired area http://www.arrl.org/hamfests.html

I've had good luck at Belton (right around Temple, TX) which is a largish ham trade show twice a year.

So, did anyone get to the show? If so, how was it???

I had to pass as instead of going to the show, we got the new mongrel, er, Sweet Polly Purebred!
