9.0 to Tiger upgrade

I have a Imac g3 400mghz running on 9.2. I am trying to upgrade to Tiger 10.3 and keep getting a message that the "Firmware" needs to be upgraded. I was also told that I cannot up grade to OSX on this computer, but I have done it successfully on other IMAC's.

I am looking for some answers if anyone can help.
