So are you in New Orleans, again, staying in a FEMA condo, as we call it?

Gah, no daNaw for me!! Too humid. Dew point got up to 45 degrees today, that's humid for around here. Must have been a "monsoon" preamble.

The Charter tech support guy I was talking to yesterday said it was raining like hell over there in Bombay...gotta love those monsoons! With any luck I should be connected again on Friday.

I wish! Gimme one of those $20,000.00 RVs, I don't care if it does smell like formaldehyde inside. No, been kickin' it in SagiNAW, MI (daNaw). Bought an old-skool mobile home inna Jerry Springer trailuh park, gutted it out, and been pimpin'...er, ah...renovating it. I've taken to calling it the Pretzel Palace, cauze there ain't a single surface in the whole joint that is plumb, square, level, flat, flush, or perpendicular to anything else in the known universe. Everything is all kinda bent & twisty-like. Just walking down the hallway makes ya feel like a drunken sailor. The damn deck just won't hold still!

Damn T. I was hoping you were down there so you could give us a picture of what the money-men were doing to it now that they ridded the old quarter of the poor people. There's a good Canadian series called "the Trailer-Park Boys" that you should check out. Much more realistic than Spinger. Keep on keeping on. You COOL man.

There have not been any poor people actually living in daQuarter for a long time. Rent's through the roof. There are a whole lot more street people there after K, since the authorities are a lot more tollerant of them than in the past. The NOPD did do a couple little token sweeps just before MardiGras day, but for the most part, homelessness is less of a crime there than it used to be. The places where the money people are looking build are not in Vieux Carre, but along the Gulf Coast, now that on-shore gambling has been legalized. (But they'll still need a lot of low-cost housing for all the minimum-wage employees to staff the new Resorts/Hotels/Casinos/Etc).
