Bootstrapping, transferring disks to/from Apple IIs

Just dug your old Apple II out of the garage? Great! All your floppies disintegrated into non-magnetized particles? Not so great! No serial card either? Worse yet!

The ADTPro project officially released version 1.0.0 today after a year's worth of beta. ADTPro has two main purposes in life:

Transferring disk images
Bootstrapping Apples when boot diskettes are long gone

As an added bonus, you don't actually need to have a serial card to get going. For those in dire need... all you need is an audio patch cable and a lot of patience.

I am not an Apple II guru but I remember using them when they first came out.

You may be interested in a similar project used to bootstrap NorthStar Horizons written by Dave Dunfield. I use this toolset daily. It can be hand keyed into a NorthStar Horizon manually and create working boot disks when none exist.

It is a very powerful concept. There may be ideas in it you can use on the Apple II.

That is cool. Completely different details, but exactly the same concept. Another thing they have in common: they take a zillion steps when you write them all out!
