hi - name is brian. in chronological order, i have had the following macs;
Macintosh II (not sure of model [in storage])
Macintosh LC (not sure of model [in storage])
Power Macintosh 8100/80
emac 700 (video died [single vertical line down the center of the screen] - tech was certain it was the PAV board but couldn't rule out the logic board and both were cost prohibitive for repair)
emac 1.42 (this is my current day to day mac which just recently developed display issues [blown capacitors] and which was repaired by replacement of the logic board at no cost under the "eMac Repair Extension Program for Video and Power". - unfortunately, i only recently discovered a thread that revealed that last year there was such a back order on the logic boards that some people were just given a new imac instead of repairing the emac. i don't know how much faster the 2Ghz imac is but i wouldn't have minded finding out. (;> )
Powerbook 540c - (latest aquisition which is how i ended up here ! (;> and man do i have a lot of questions !! so if you're a 540c expert keep your eyes peeled for an endless parade of questions.)
