Works great! But decidedly no longer covered by factory warranty ;)

I had offered it up some months back, but the guy who had me had me hold it for him backed out of the deal, apparently shipping overseas was a bit too much $$ for him hahaha

I am looking for an fuctional IBM 5155 or 5162 in exchange. I don't know the "values" of either or mine, but as my Kaypro 1 really holds no interest for me and I would like to add a 5155 or a 5162 to my collection, currently consisting of a 5150, 5160 & 5170...

---Edited:

Forgot to add, unit also comes with some manuals & software diskettes, CP/M obviously, wordstar? or something like that. ALSO it comes in a nice light blue padded carrying case that says, can you guess? KAYPRO on it. Case is also in nice condition. As is the Kaypro unit itself, very minimal scratches, scuffs or (if any) discoloration (the coloring is uniform)..

---Edited: (again)
I suppose I would entertain other offers...

So, any takers?

Thanks.

Heh - if ya had a K10 for trade, I;d be all over it, even if it was no good, but the HD subsystem was good (boards). I have a pretty nice shape 5155, 512K, 1FD 1HD, pics here from the ended auction:

I have (2) Kaypro 1's as it is...

Wasn't there a rumor going around a few years ago about counterfeit Apple 1s?

Yeah, there was, it was the Replica-1.

People were trying to pass them off as the real deal and that motivated the people building the kits to silk-screen Replica-1 on the motherboard.

Heh - you'd have to do more than that...
Add a fan, change the motherboard, and the ROM, remove the left-side drive, and machine a new front panel, repaint the case, oh, and switch the remaining floppy drive to a proper 10 variety, add the HD LED on the front panel....

It'd be cheaper to find a K10!

:D
