The VCM provides an alternative to eBay that is more focused toward computer collectors. Everything from boards to full systems can be found there. Besides not having listing fees, you can be sure that you are buying or selling from like-minded people.

(Disclaimer: I have two things listed there, but otherwise have no affiliation with it.)

Edit: Atari, I marked this sticky ..

There is only ONE reason I never bought off of there. Even though most people are like you or me, there isn't much protection, or a rating system that I know of. Granted, if you pay with paypal, there is a form of protection, but it's not like there is a header of the group. No one to turn to when you need help, or when you are scammed. It is more of an online bulletin board. Not much structure to talk about. But seems I have never been scammed, and because of my raisings/the government, I fear having no structure, no one there when something goes wrong.

Oh, is anybody here a member there? You will see me there as FieldHippieRyan@aol.com. I didn't add any (dot) or (nospam) on there, as it already has spam coming out of the eye-sockets, as well as other "areas." I long ago abandoned that e-mail address.

I snagged a Mac IIsi, external scsi case, and a Central point deluxe option board from there.

As with any auction system I always communicate with the seller before bidding. I've been there for a while and I've purchased several items from various folks and never had a deal go sour, so I do consider it a nice source.

It appears that the site is no more, at least it timed out when I tried loading it. Please consider chasethechuckwagon.com as a new source for vintage computing items.

VCM is undergoing upgrades. It is a well known and long running site.
