Hello from a South Australian (aka the land of Crow Eaters)

Stumbled across your site the other day while looking for older Linux distros on the net.

Hopefully, I'll have some luck here...

From the looks of it, there's plenty of fellow Aussies here. So I reckon I'll settle in quick smart.

As by way of filling in a little about me.

I am in my 50's (geez, time flies) and have been fooling around with computers since the late 80's.

I am not so much a nuts and bolts guy, but an OS tragic..;)

Currently run GranularLinux, Windows and OS X machines...

So I guess that might qualify me as a bit of an "Elder Geek"....:D

Anyway, looking forward to meeting you guys.

See ya.

Gday Boss,

No worries, I'm the same vintage. All the best and I hope you enjoy yourself here.

Hey, welcome, eh? :)

Can't have too many Commonwealth countries here.

Welcome! Hopefully we can help your problems, and maybe you can contribute information to ours! I've always wondered what Australia was like. It is my #2 of backup plans. Basically, that means that if things go much sour-er here in the U.S. first I will move to Canada. If things sour there, I will go to Australia. If things go sour there, I have Japan next on my list, as they have English as their second language. From there, which I hope it doesn't get there, I will have to do more research on countries who speak English! If there is one thing to remember on the forums, don't question the moderators authority.

Welcome!

These guys are great. I got here and never left, and they never made me feel like an unwanted step-relative! :)

I love Linux, too, it's a great OS. ANY of them!

Wee'll, I haven't meant to mention this, but you ARE from Texas. As long as you keep your place, and don't foget it, it's a pretty tolerant bunch.
