I used to use Session... I think it came with windows 95 at newest. I hope I'm not out of line for this forum. Does anyone know of any good current midi software that allows you to go in line by line and edit musical scores? It seems hard to find anything that isn't related to ringtones. My interests are purely musical. Sorry again if I'm out of line but MIDI seems to have gone the way of the Woolly Mammoth.

This would probably be better in the General off-topic section, but anyway, the best MIDI editing software for scores in my opinion is Rosegarden. Unfortunately it's UNIX/Linux only so if you don't already run Linux it could be tricky. It's worth it though.

Nope. We run XP around these parts. Thanks anyhow.

Ah, I see which type of software you're looking for. Perhaps some modern tracker that can work with MIDI as well? I don't know which one is most suitable. Commercial music software like Cubase etc may work more with music notation than tracker style.
(But this thread indeed is off-topic, as soon as you mentioned Windows XP)
