Printer Port Question

I'm using a virtual ST in the form of STeem running on Linux. It's fantastic to see my favorite program of all time (Signum!2) running again.

Only problem is that I can't get hardcopy printouts. Does anybody have any knowledge of the Centrionics port used on the ST? Did it differ in any way from more modern versions used in PC's built after the '80s?

IIRC the ST had a nonstandard PP proprietory connection "Curse you, Sam Tramiel, you greedy B----rd". You might ask this question in the very active Yahoo atari-midi group where a lot of members use Steem. To post I believe you have to register tho.

from what I remember, all the pins aren't used like on modern printer ports. here's a link to a lot of hardware info:
