I have a BBC (b) with a suspected faulty Serial ULA chip, as anyone who has read the Genre-->Other part of these forums will know. The only way I can prove it is the chip, is to replace it with a good one and see if this fixes the problem.
Does anyone have an old spare/broken/discarded BBC (b) motherboard with a good Serial ULA chip they could extract and send it to me. They seem to be socketed in a large number of boards so removal is no problem.
I'm happy to pay postage and beer money for the hassel. If the chip is guaranteed to be good (i.e you KNOW DEFINTELY that both the cassette and RS423 functions work), I'll also pay a few dollars for the chip itself.
Alternatively, if anyone knows where I can get a replacement chip, please let me know.
