I'm looking for a Macintosh SE with Hard Drive in usable condition.

Let me know if you have one to sell.

I will have to check, but I am pretty sure I have at least one SE HD and one SE/30.....

Thank you for checking!

I live in a motor home full time and don't have much room for retro computers.

Right now I have an Epson PX-8 and a Macintosh Portable that I'm attempting to get working.

Kewl! I'm thinking I should just mount my snow shovel to the grille of my mini and point it south till I get to a place where someone asks me what da hell that thing is, then toss out the ol' anchor.

What sort of trouble are you having with the PX-8? (99% of the time, it's battery related).

The Epson PX-8 is working fine - I rebuilt the battery pack last year and I've had no problems with it. I like programming things in BASIC on it.

The Macintosh Portable is the unit that is not working.

I purchased it for $20.00 at a hamfest last year and I'm just getting around to working on it. The battery pack in the Macintosh Portable was dead - so I opened it up and found three round 2 volt ni-cad batteries inside of it. I was able to order the exact same battery online - they arrived yesterday.

Tonight I'm going to get the nicads installed in the battery pack, charge them up and then see what the M.P. does. I'm not sure if the LCD or hard drive is good in it....

My search for a Macintosh SE is over - I found someone with three of them for sale on Craigs list this morning for $30.00. The best part is that they were located less then 10 miles away from me.

I picked them up this morning. Two of them work and one had a failed hard drive.

I parted out the one with the bad hard drive and was able to install a total of 4 megs of memory in one of the others.

Now this afternoon I get to have fun playing with them.
