That's a wee bit out of the Vintage Range. Vintage would be more like EGA and CGA, and the good old days of Monochorme. Thats about as Modern as One could get.
Moved to a better spot.

What? I got a Kaypro IV sitting here that could blow that crap out of the water!
Seriously, XFX is a good company, and the 7900 is a great card, perhaps the fastest on the market now for gaming.

I'm not sure if this is a genuine question or a way to get a referral link, but why would a big graphic card manufacturer want el cheapo referral links out of context? I found a similar thread here:

It appears the 7900 chipset is the currently most powerful and sought after. I don't know if the brand in question (XFX) has a better implementation or price than MSI, Asus, Gainward, Albatron etc. For some reason, I think Google will be a better place to ask these types of questions than a vintage computing forum.

I kept it beacuase we always get so much joy from comments like mine and Alexkerhead's. If anyone wants me to, I can remove the link or I can just ax the whole post.... Remember the Teapot one? God that was funny. Espeially Erik's comment.

On Tom's Hardware, it appears that they only make a distinction between the different GPUs. I couldn't find any test of several graphics card with the exact same GPU but from different card manufacturers. Maybe it doesn't matter, but then why would anyone want to pay $10 extra for a card with the same specs as the cheaper one? More bundled software, better known brand?
Heh, someone else asked the same question:
http://forumz.tomshardware.com/hardw...ict178631.html
and it appears some cards are better with overclocking.

I have seen these kind of posts before, and dont understand why people do it. Google/Yahoo/etc. can give you much better results than a bunch of people who think tandy, commodore, apple, ibm, etc. rule.

That's why I kept this post, I knew we would get some joy out of it. Yes, Tandy does indeed rule. Don't get me wrong, I'm still a Vintage collector and all but I like Modern, High Powered machines as well. (Like my 64-bit rig and Cray I Telnet to which doesint really count since it's a Vintage Cray.) I love both Vintage and super modern high powered. I was always intrested in HPC*, but I like Vintage machines too.....
