Related Items in Collection Manuals, some software, Osborne 1, Kaypro 2x
Related Items Wanted Original software, keyboard overlays/templates, battery pack.

After about a year of producing the original Osborne 1 the company revamped the model somewhat to make it more durable.

The second Osborne in my collection is one of these newer items. It is functional, although the keyboard latches have failed (so much for that additional durability). It came with most of its documents and software as well as a modem that sits in the "disk storage" slot beneath the lefthand disk drive.

Oh, yeah. I also have found a slew of floppy drives, both full height and half height, for the Osborne 1/1a/Executive. I don't even know how many I have, but if you're interested, contact me and I'll see about getting a working unit to you. As if that's not enough, I have also run across several blank floppy disks which I also want to get rid of. Cheers!

Iím getting ready to post two Osborne computers on eBay. One is the Executive and the other is Osborne 1 the second release. I was researching these computers and came across your wanted add. They both are in very good shape and show just a little yellowing on the plastic. Both turn on but due to not having any software for these, I donít know if they will get past the ďput disk in and press return pageĒ. I can take a few pictures and post them if interested. Thank You.

I was going through my basement the other day and I found my old computerÖ

Osborne Executive in nearly mint condition. It has seen little use, and has done little but collect dust for the last 20 years. It was purchased new in 1983 by Citicorp, and came into my possession in early 1984 due to a major upgrade in Citicorpís IBM user interface. -All operating disks -All manuals that originally came with the machine -An external modem -An external printer (daisy wheel)

Iím looking to sell for around $1,500 including all the peripherals. If you have further questions please e-mail me at

I'm excited! Have just picked up an Osborne 1. It's supposed to have the CP/M OS but no other software. Would love to obtain a copy of Wordstar, the spreadsheet, and database programs. Also hoping to find a modem one day.

I am looking for Osborne 1 software. I am getting boot error message when I try to boot so I assume my disks are no good. Can anybody direct me to a place I can get new ones?

(Submitted January 18, 2005 14:04:12 by Peter Gold)

Hi, Rolf!

I have an Osborne, which I believe is a 1a. It has a light gray- blue outer case. It's in great condition cosmetically, and the last time I used it, it booted and even the RAM disk worked! I also have a modem that slides into the disk storage area, an Exmon, external monitor adaptor. I added a 256k RAM disk. It's a two-floppy model, single-side drives. Also a printer cable, and even a C. Itoh dot-matrix printer. I believe that I have the manuals and original software - WordStar, SuperCalc, and dBASEII, as well as CP/M disks and some utilities on disks, too.

I'd like to find a good home for this outfit. Please make an offer.
